Density and viscosity of liquids and gases are determined on the basis of vibronic MEMS sensors.

Resonant vibrating microstructures form the basis for the measuring modules of TrueDyne Sensors AG in Reinach, Switzerland. Through interaction with the fluid, vibration properties such as resonant frequency and vibration quality of the structures change. Using physical models, the density and viscosity of gases and liquids can be determined from these parameters. The manifold application possibilities of the measuring instruments include engine test benches, burner control or gas quality monitoring.
